Deaf Astronomers SPA

The Deaf Astronomers' Society brought along some equipment they wanted to sell and displayed information on their activities including an eclipse trip

East Anglian Rocketeers Junior Rocketeers

The East Anglian Rocketry Society and the UK Rocketry Association stands in the Greenwich House foyer were very popular. Children made small rockets while the displays showed just how powerful some amateur rockets can be.

East Anglian Rocketeers Stardome Planetarium

EARS has a launch site at Elsworth. Their rockets can achieve mach 1 by the time they clear the launch tower and can reach 5,000 feet (airspace restrictions prevent their going higher)

The Stardome Planetarium in the Greenwich House seminar room. Also known as the Black Hole; 27 children disappeared into it and were never seen again


Ralph Bell Solar Viewing

Ralph Bell showed how to photograph the Moon and planets using his 10-inch telescope and a webcam

Green Witch and Bedford Astronomical Society each used a Personal Solar Telescope (PST) to show the Sun in hydrogen-alpha light. The Sun shone all day and displayed a large dramatic prominence

The Storm Troopers and friends from the UK garrison are a great bunch of people and raise money for charity. They were happy to pose for photos and worked hard all day
